Cookie Policy

LAST UPDATED: JUNE 7, 2024

We use cookies and similar technologies, such as pixels or click-through URLs, in order to provide our services, including our co-building opportunities and Render point solutions. This Cookie Policy explains the technologies that we use, why they are used, and your right to control their use.

This Cookie Policy applies to the Render website, Render point solution, Render emails, or services that link to this policy or incorporate it by reference. It supplements the Render Privacy Policy and Website Privacy Notice. Capitalized terms used but not defined have the meanings set forth in the Render User Agreement.

What are cookies and how are they used?

We use a variety of cookies or tracking technologies to understand how Participants interact with our websites, emails, and other services.

Cookies. Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website and stored in your web browser. Cookies can be recalled by certain web servers. Each time you visit the Render website, our web servers recall cookies. When recalled, the cookies are sent by your computer or device. These cookies allow us and our third-party partners to recognize the browser on your device. Other technologies, including identifiers associated with your device, and other software, are used for similar purposes.

First-party cookies” are set by the website owner or service provider (in this case CZI).

Third-party cookies” are a type of cookie placed by someone other than CZI. These cookies may be persistent and gather browsing activity across multiple websites and across multiple sessions (“persistent cookies”). They are stored until you delete them, or until they expire after the time period set in that third-party cookie. Other third-party cookies may be temporary cookies stored on your device while you visit our site that expire when you close your browser (“session cookies”). The table below lists the third-party cookies and pixels that we use.

Pixels. Pixels are a type of technology placed on a website or within the body of an email for the purpose of tracking certain activity, such as views of a website or when an email is opened. Pixels are often used in combination with cookies, but turning off cookies may not stop pixels from detecting a website visit or if you opened a message.

Click-through URL. If you receive newsletters, updates, or other information from us, our emails may use a “click-through URL” linked to content on our sites. When you click one of these URLs, they pass through a separate web server before arriving at the destination page on our sites. We use this click-through data to help us understand how recipients respond to, or interact with, our emails. If you prefer not to be tracked in this way, please do not click text or graphic links in emails you receive from us.

What types of cookies and similar technologies are used?

You have choices and control over the cookies that you allow onto your browser. For example, your browser may offer settings that allow you to choose whether browser cookies are set and to delete them. For more information about these controls, visit your browser “help” resources. Below are the types of cookies and pixels that we use for Render and on our website:

TYPE OF COOKIE
PURPOSE

Strictly Necessary

Certain cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and can’t be switched off in our systems. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site won’t work as a result.

Functional

These cookies are functional, but not strictly necessary; set by us (or by third parties whose services we have added to the site), they enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. You may disable some or all of that functionality if you do not allow these cookies.

Analytics

Analytics cookies collect information that allows us to understand how often you use our website, where you are accessing the website from, and the links and content on our website that you interact with. We use these cookies to support our website and to improve its operation. If you do not allow these cookies, we won’t know when you have visited our site, and won’t be able to monitor its performance.

Marketing and Social Media

We use certain cookies to inform our own marketing and digital content efforts, which help us tell people about the work we do. For example, if a Facebook or LinkedIn user visits our website, Facebook or LinkedIn can then identify them as part of a group of website visitors in order to serve them with marketing and digital content messages about our work.

Under California law, this practice is considered to be “sharing” of personal information and may be deemed a “sale” of such information. Under the laws of certain other jurisdictions, this practice may be considered targeted advertising. You can opt-out of these disclosures by sliding the toggle above to the left/turning off the toggle switch, or by visiting our website from a supported browser with the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signal enabled (you can find more information about how we handle GPC in our Privacy Policy). Make sure you click on the “Confirm My Choices” button below to save your choice to opt out.

Please keep in mind that these opt-out tools are limited to the device and web browser you are using because they work off your device ID or browser ID. If you use another device or browser, you will need to opt-out on each device and browser. If you block or clear cookies from your browser, it may remove the opt-out settings, requiring you to opt-out again.

Since the number and names of cookies and pixels may change, this table may be updated from time to time and when we update it, we will note material changes in this notice. The expiration dates for our cookies below generally apply on a rolling basis or from the last time a visitor or Participant has interacted with Render.
